Donkeys Look To Improve On Last Year's Success

The big news out of Donkey camp is the retirement of their leader Chris Strickland. The shakeup is mitigated by Donkey depth and Donkey developmental efforts. Chad Alexander leads the 2010 lineup that includes returning masher Chris Riggs, defensive standout Chuck and 09 ROY Josh.

Strickland was good, it’s going to be hard to replace that 2.38 life time ERA, but Chad is the best lefty in the league and Josh appears ready to step up to #2 pitcher status. Casey can log innings and Aaron may be able to throw a few too but the sleeper pitching candidate out of Donkey camp is Chuck.

This is a really good hitting team. Riggs just kills the ball and Chad is clutch, but Josh hit .349 last year, and in 49 plate appearances he hit 7 home runs, 4 doubles and took 6 walks, watch out. Casey can hold his on at the plate and newest Donkey Martin looks like a slugger in the making, while Aaron provides a matchup problem hitting Louie.

The Donkeys play solid defense. Chuck is as good as anyone in the Wiffle ATL, and Aaron can own the field as well, there is no weak spot in the Donkey D.

Projection: Things will have to go bad for the Donkeys not to make the playoffs. They hit well, they pitch well, and they play good defense. The question marks are #2 pitcher and if Chad can duck enough fly balls to play every week, sorry I had to slip that in there.
